It was built in 1858 in the heart of Cairo at Tahrir Square. It is the richest museum of Egyptian antiquities in the world. Pharaonic treasures of 5000 years of an ancient civilization are displayed here. It comprises a quarter of a million antiquities in addition to a unique collection of magnificent Pharaonic artifacts.
