Egyptian flint working technique reached its zenith during this period as is apparent from these two examples. Spearheads were usually made locally of flint. They were also brought from abroad like this exquisite example made of obsidian. The flint knife acquires its uniqueness from its form as its blade is encased in a gold leaf handle. The lower part of the handle has the characteristic Nagada II motifs of several dancers and a boat with oars.
