A Lord of the Netherworld

A Lord of the Netherworld

Photographer:

Araldo De Luca

Title:

A Lord of the Netherworld

Description:

A lord of the netherworld, from the right wall of corridor D, in the tomb of Rameses IX. This comes from the upper register, where there is no text, but a row of eight human figures which are drawn in alternating red and yellow circles. It has been recently suggested by an Egyptologist that these are Lords of the Netherworld, meant to represent falling stars.
