The Alexandria National Museum exhibits a collection of bronze pieces. Bronze, which is an alloy of copper and tin, had been used in western Asia before the Egyptians learned how to make it. It began to be used in Egypt on a small scale in the Middle Kingdom, and then it became widespread during the rule of Dynasty XVIII.
