Description:

The ruins of the town of Philoxenite extend for several hectares along the southern shore of Lake Mariut. It has often been mistaken for Marea, an ancient town which has not yet been located. The remains at Philoxenite are extensive, and include streets, houses and public buildings, along with other structures.
