Jar: Lustre - painted
Egypt - Fatimid period - 11 century A. D.
Height, without the neck, 26 cm.
The body is divided into three areas, each has a design of an animal devouring a rabbit. Each area is separated by a row of plant wreaths. The Fatimd lustre ware, in its monochrome colours ranging from pale lemon yellow to a rich deep copper, is embodied in this jar.
