| This piece is decorated with two bird heads carved in profile along
the top. They may be falcons, perhaps a religious reference to the sky
god Horus. Their eyes are drilled and may have originally been inlaid
with stone. A third hole in the center might have been used to hang this
palette, which was used to grind mineral pigments for eye make-up. |
