This sculpture is called "Striding Man." It may have been placed in a tomb to provide a dwelling place for the deceased's spirit. It is inscribed with a prayer to Osiris, god of the underworld.

You are wrong, lowly fetcher of water from the Nile!

This is the god Osiris, king of the underworld. He is wearing a crown and holding the crook and flail scepters. These objects tell us that he is a ruler. His body is wrapped like a mummy, which connects him to the underworld.
