
A painting depicting a girl by Jean-Auguste-Dominique
Ingres (1780 - 1867) who won Rome Prize in 1801 and was deemed the
leader of New Classicism versus Romanticism. He also assumed the post of
Chairman of the Academy of French Fine Arts in Rome from 1934 to 1841
and he is one of the French Art's Figures in the 19th century.
It had been at the Museum of Modern Arts in Cairo till 1935 and it is
now one of the exhibits of Gezira Museum in Cairo.
