Cleopatra, was beautiful
Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawas denied reports circulated by British archaeologists and quoted by Reuters recently that queen Cleopatra was short, obese and ugly.
"The Britons are falsifying the facts of history without scientific basis," said Hawas.
"The ancient Greek engravings and the remaining statues of Cleopatra indicate that she was beautiful, well-featured and lissome," he said.
Hawas cited the engravings in Dandara temple in Qena and statues in a museum in California.
