8 Million Pounds (Approx. US$2.4M) for Excavation Work
Approximately US$2.5 million dollars were allocated to finance archaeological excavation work over the coming six months period. Almost one-third of this amount will be assigned to the research for Islamic and Coptic monuments as well as for the completion of projects underway in Sinai's new valley and upper Egypt.
The plan will further support excavation in El Kebash (Rams) Road in Luxor. At this stage, the Higher Council of Antiquities will focus on areas subject to urban expansion and agricultural projects specifically in the Delta region.
