'Ahmose Sitayet was named viceroy of Nubia by 'Ahmose I after the Nubian campaign. He was not a member of the royal family, but he did assume the title of "King's Son of Kush." As viceroy, he ruled the territories below the First Cataract and Aswan. He had administrative offices in Aswan and on Elephantine Island. He was succeeded by Tjuroy, his son.
