Ma'at Hornefrure'

19th Dynasty

Ma'at Hornefrure' was married to Ramesses II as a result of the Hittite Alliance. she was a Hittite princess and ruled beside the queens Bint Anath and Merytamon. She then retired to the harem in the Fayoum. It has been suggested that Ma'at Hornefrure' was the inspiration for the Tale of the Princess Bekhten which was in the Bentresh stela. The story started not long after the Hittite delegation arrived and the Alliance was signed.
