Mereruka served Teti as vizier and was married to the king's daughter, princess Shesheshet. Mereruka supervised the building of Teti's complex. His own tomb at Saqqara is famous for its elaborate reliefs and for a statue of Mereruka as a spirit entering the tomb through a false door.
