Nebwawi served during the reigns of Tuthmosis III and Amenhotep II as high priest of Osiris at Abydos. He also served under Hatshepsut, but was able to stay favorable to her successors. He was sometimes called in as a counselor. His life was detailed on a stela and a statue that was erected at Thebes in his honor.
