Yaqub-Hor

Fifteenth Dynasty

The successor of King Salitis, the first king of the dynasty and the first of the Hyksos to rule Egypt, Yaqub-Hor reigned for eighteen years. His reign was notable for the fact that he maintained good working relations with the rulers of Thebes, the founders of the Seventeenth Dynasty which was ultimately to bring about the Hyksos' expulsion from Egypt. Yaqub-Hor is represented by seals which have been found from Gaza to Kerma.
