Djar
11th Dynasty
Djar was an overseer of the royal harem during the reign of Mentuhotpe II. This was an important position since the pharaoh kept a large harem. The king had several of his female companions buried with him in his tomb at Deir el-Bahri. Djar had a tomb near the complex at Thebes, which was an indication of his rank and reputation.
