Julius Alexander, TiberiusRoman Emperors
Julius was prefect in Alexandria, and a member of a great Jewish family which included the theologian and philosopher Philo. The title of prefect was powerful politically, as is evidenced by the knowledge that the emperor Vespasian was first proclaimed at Alexandria by Julius Alexander, Tiberius.
