Who's Who of Egyptian people, queens and family: Menhet

Menhet

18th Dynasty

Menhet was the royal wife of Tuthmosis III and is thought to have been the daughter of a Syrian chief. She was possibly given to Tuthmosis in marriage along with her two sisters, Menwi and Merti. She was buried with her sisters in the Valley of the Tombs of the Monkeys or Wadi Gabbanet el-Kurrud. Each of the women had identical mortuary offerings and regalia to show their equality.
