Nebwenef served during the reign of Ramesses II as a high priest of Amon. He was also the king's first prophet of Hathor and Anhur. He also served Seti I during the beginning of his career. His mortuary temple was built near Seti's tomb. Reliefs in his tomb showed Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari announcing him as high priest.
