Pawara

18th Dynasty

Pawara served during the reign of Akhenaten during the 'Amarna period. As an official envoy of Egypt to 'Amurru, he was witness to the decline in Egyptian power in this area. This decline was caused when Akhenaten refused to defend Egypt's allies and territories. Pawara was killed in 'Amurru. His successor had to leave the area and surrendered the city to their own rulers.
