Philoponius, JohnRoman Emperors
After 529, many leaders of Alexandrian philosophy were
either converts to Christianity or professed to be. John
Philoponius, who had written commentaries on the works of
Aristotle, was one of these. Proclus wrote polemical work
in eighteen books speaking out against the Christians and
was attacked, in turn, by John, who tried to show that he
was ignorant in batters of Greek scholarship as well.
