Sitamun18th Dynasty
Sitamun was a princess during the 18th Dynasty,
and was the daughter of Amenhotep III
and Queen Tiy (1391-1353 B.C.).
Some records indicate that Queen Tiy urged Amenhotep to
accept Sitamun as a consort. Tiy probably wanted to
ensure the birth of other royal heirs. Sitamun is
believed by some to be the mother of Smenkhkare and Tut'ankhamun
as a result of this marriage, as the young kings were
brothers. She was buried at Thebes.
