Ain Umm Labakha
Location:
Kharga Oasis, Al Wadi Al Gadeed, Egypt
Description
Labakha was built by the Romans at the other end of the caravan route, about 19 miles from Ain Umm El-Dabadib, which has two different paths connecting the two structures. The fortress has two temples here, a cemetery and an aqueduct. While the exterior walls are mostly preserved, inside there is little left. As with most of the fortresses in the area, it has rounded towers, and looks more like a castle than anything else.
