The first thing to pack is a valid certification card and a log book that is up-to-date. It is also wise to get a letter from your doctor stating that you are healthy enough to dive. You must obtain a full tourist visa before arrival in Egypt if you want to dive at certain parks and sites. Travel agents will tell you that you can obtain a visa at the airport upon arrival in Egypt. While this is true, the visa you obtain at the airport is a mini visa and not a full tourist visa with applicable tax stamps. If you fail to obtain the full visa before arrival in Egypt, you will not be able to dive at certain areas. There is no way to obtain the full visa while in Egypt. Divers are also strongly urged to obtain inexpensive diver insurance designed to evacuate divers in the event of an emergency.
