Asasif Necropolis at Thebes in Egypt

Asasif Necropolis

Located between the Deir al-Bahri and the Tombs of the Nobles, the excavations here are ongoing. These tombs include that of Kheru-Ef, Montuemhet, Anch-Hor and Pabasa. We have seen references dating these tombs to both the 18th Dynasty and the 25th and 26th Dynasties. Pabasa was the steward of Nitocris, the Divine Votaress of Amun. There are two courts leading to the underground rooms and a gallery which leads to the tomb. Kheruef (Tomb 192) was the steward of Queen Tiyi and served during the reign of Amenhotep III. It is mostly in ruin but contains some raised reliefs showing the festival of the erection of the djed pillar.
