Who's Who of Egyptian people, queens and family: Ankhtify

Ankhtify

9th/10th Dynasty

Ankhtify was called the 'Great Chieftain' of the nome of Nekhen, the third nome of Upper Egypt, that of which Hieraconopolis opposite El-Kab was the capital. In accounts found in his tomb, Ankhtify is obscure about his martial status, but if his account is trustworthy, he managed to subdue the inhabitants to both the east and west of Thebes before the reign of the Inyotefs.
