Intef

12th Dynasty

Intef was a leader of expeditions for the king Amenemhet I. He was also an aristocrat and a prophet of the god Min. He led expeditions to the Wadi Hammamat area as well as other desert regions on the eastern side of the Nile. It was during this era that the Egyptians began to exploit all of their available natural resources.
